Summary:
Operates the Colorliner press in our Concord printing plant. Includes all duties associated with the press, newsprint rolls, including preparing for operation, plating, running of the press (including folder), cleaning and routine maintenance.
What you will do:
Operating the press units, including plating, setting ink and rollers, webbing, and operating controls
Operating press folder unit
Newsprint roll handling, newsprint warehouse operations, and reel room operations
Operate forklift/clamp truck in a safe, competent manner
Press maintenance tasks
Work in a safe manner using all appropriate safety equipment, including guards and safe buttons
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Read and understand mark ups for page location and color positions on all runs
What you will bring:
Exhibit competency in press console operations
Ability to properly plate and remove plates, remove and install blankets, and purge black and color ink rails
Competency in achieving ink and water balances, and density targets during press runs
Specific vision abilities including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Previous press experience required
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
This job operates in a warehouse and printing plant environment. This role routinely uses pallet jacks and forklifts
Must be able to work with chemicals, loud noise, dusty areas and moving parts safely and wear hearing protection the entire shift
This job is not a remote position; employee will report to a production plant
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear
The employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms
Requires the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis. Heavy work may exert in excess of 100 pounds of force to move objects
Benefits and Compensation:
The hourly range is $21.00 - $24.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to geographic location, education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, the Company offers eligible employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, 401k, as well as paid time off and select paid holidays (all benefits are based on eligibility).
