The Boeing Company is looking for a President, Spectrolab. This President, Spectrolab is set to join the team located in Sylmar, CA. 

Spectrolab is the world's leading supplier for space solar cells and high-intensity searchlight solutions. This role reports to Vice President of Space Mission Systems. The successful candidate will have experience running programs and/or businesses with Profit and Loss responsibility and Estimate at Completion (EAC) deliverables, experience in a factory setting, and experience serving a wide variety of customers, including domestic, international, civil, commercial, and government. This leader is responsible for developing and executing risk, issues, and opportunity management plans.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire value chain of the Spectrolab offerings to the customer base. Primarily addressing space power and airborne illumination markets, the business delivers products at component, assembly and system levels  
  • Responsible for value proposition of technical excellence, delivery certainty and customer support across addressable market segments
  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and program managers to ensure focus on program performance, situational awareness, risk and opportunity management
  • Assists in the development tactical and longer-term customer strategy – including key capture opportunities
  • Site Leader-Employee Engagement, Reviews/Approves site decisions including but not limited to strategic and tactical investments, site improvements, functional-based improvements, sign-off on site-based standards including both Boeing-based and local jurisdiction-based reports (AQMD, OSHA, LDRPS, Business Recovery/Continuity)   

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):  

  • Minimum 5 years of senior leader or manager experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with the implementation and use of Program Management Best Practices
  • Experience leading through influence and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives
  • Experience with critical business and financial acumen including risk, issue, and opportunity management to drive performance
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 

  • Product knowledge of solar cells, solar panel assemblies, searchlights, sensors and simulation equipment
  • Knowledge of space solar power industry, including but not limited to photovoltaic technology, customer segmentation, KPPs, supply base, cycle time and key trade space
  • Experience with safety, quality, technical and financial performance

Summary pay range: ​$200,000-$280,000
