Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Precision Electromechanical Assembler 3 based out of Rolling Meadows, IL.

This role supports the TWT assembly area, where precision work, safety, and adherence to specialized processes are critical.

What you'll get to do:

  • Perform a variety of operations to assemble precision electromechanical products specifically related to TWT assemblies.
  • Execute tasks such as using precision measuring instruments to achieve specified tolerances.
  • Assemble, disassemble, repair, and reassemble TWT assemblies—including small components in a clean room environment—while troubleshooting and correcting malfunctions.
  • Support the development and modification of prototype TWT units in collaboration with engineering personnel.
  • Monitor and verify product quality using statistical processes and other control procedures.
  • Maintain accurate data and detailed record-keeping of assembly processes.
  • Follow the company’s electrostatic discharge (ESD) procedures and in-house certifications, including Solder, Optics, ESD, and FOD.
  • Work from designs, work instructions, and verbal instructions to ensure high-quality assembly.
  • Use and apply standard electromechanical assembly techniques with small parts, as well as handling fiber optic cables.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

  • The role involves repetitive tasks and prolonged standing, requiring the candidate to maintain focus and precision throughout each shift.
  • Must adhere to rigorous safety protocols, especially when working with hazardous chemicals and cleaning solutions in designated baths.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Clear communicator who can read and understand complex instructions.
  • Comfortable working with microscopes and small mechanical components.
  • Committed to safe work practices and continuous quality improvement within a dynamic TWT assembly environment.

Basic Qualifications for Precision Electromechanical Assembler 3:

  • 4 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in assembling products using standard electromechanical techniques with basic handheld tools.
  • Skilled in soldering in accordance with specified workmanship standards.
  • Experience with shop safety practices and procedures during assembly operations, including proper handling of hazardous materials.
  • U.S. Citizenship Required

Preferred Qualifications for Precision Electromechanical Assembler 3:

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity.
  • Demonstrated capability in performing precision assembly and soldering.
  • Previous experience in handling or cleaning optics and optic assemblies.

Primary Level Salary Range: $53,500.00 - $89,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
