About The Role

In this pivotal role, you’ll act as the bridge between Sales, Product, and Customer Success, helping clients achieve their goals through innovative, secure, and scalable payment solutions. You’ll leverage your deep understanding of the card payments ecosystem spanning both card-present and eCommerce environments to design and deliver tailored solutions.

As our Pre-Sales Solutions Consultant, you’ll confidently present and demonstrate technical solutions to audiences at all levels, from CTOs and CIOs to implementation teams, communicating complex concepts in a clear and compelling way. You’ll also apply your expertise in payment security and compliance, engaging effectively with client security teams and PCI QSA organisations to ensure every solution meets industry standards.

Sales Engagement:

  • During a sales engagement, the Pre Sales Solutions Consultant will need to understand customer requirements and guide them to a solution through consultative selling approach. This can involve mapping customer requirements onto the solutions that Verifone can provide and/or offering alternative ways of achieving the same goal without the need to change Verifone’s standard solution offerings. The Pre Sales Solution Consultant will be responsible for documenting the stated requirements into a Function Requirements Document (FRD); detailing each of the requirements, how they will be met and identifying gaps, if any. This document is a key deliverable for a sales engagement, and forms part of the successful hand over from sales to Product (where new features development may have to be incorporated into the roadmap) and to other delivery teams. You will also assist customers in understanding integration requirements and supporting proof of concept integrations. Once the sale is completed, the Pre Sales Solutions Consultant will assist with transitioning the customer interactions to the delivery teams and will be required to attend transition meetings, with the aim to provide a smooth customer experience.

RFP/RFI Support:

  • From time to time, Merchants will submit Requests for Information and Request for Proposal. The Pre Sales Solution Consultant is responsible for providing technical input into these documents and assisting with content from other contributing teams. The Pre Sales Solutions Consultant will also work to ensure that the document is delivered on time, is of excellent quality and has been peer reviewed and signed off by the relevant teams including but not limited to Commercial, Product, Legal, Finance teams.

Skills and Experience We Desire

  • Self-motivated and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to convey complex concepts using appropriate language for the given audience
  • Good technical skills including ability to work with Verifone hardware products with an ability to load and operate devices
  • Good working knowledge of the entire card payment life-cycle
  • Good commercial skills, including an understanding of how sales engagements work
  • Ability to learn new solutions and keep abreast of card payment industry developments  
  • Good working Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams etc
  • Must be prepared to travel mainly in the UK and occasional overseas travel
  • Good presentational skills for both Face to Face and Phone / Web-based meetings
