The opportunity
As a Pre-Sales Specialist for Automation Products at Hitachi, Ltd., you will be the technical and solution expert, working closely with the sales team to present and demonstrate our cutting-edge automation solutions to prospective clients, ensuring their technical understanding and alignment with business needs.
How you’ll make an impact
Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer requirements, business challenges, and strategic objectives related to automation.
Conduct technical presentations and demonstrations of Hitachi's automation product portfolio (e.g., industrial robots, PLC/SCADA systems, IoT platforms for manufacturing, AI-driven automation) to potential clients.
Develop and deliver compelling proof-of-concept (POC) solutions, tailored product demonstrations, and technical proposals.
Act as a subject matter expert during the sales cycle, addressing technical queries, overcoming objections, and providing detailed solution configurations.
Analyze customer existing infrastructure and processes to identify opportunities for automation and propose suitable Hitachi solutions.
Work closely with product management and engineering teams to provide feedback from the field, contributing to product development and enhancement.
Participate in industry events, trade shows, and conferences to showcase Hitachi's automation capabilities and network with potential clients.
Prepare detailed technical documentation, including solution architectures, scope of work, and integration plans.
Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in industrial automation, robotics, AI, and IoT technologies.
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background
Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science, Automation, or related field) or equivalent practical experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a pre-sales, solutions architecture, or technical consulting role, specifically within the industrial automation or manufacturing technology sector.
Strong technical understanding and hands-on experience with at least one or more of the following: Relay commissioning, testing and configuration
Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Proven ability to understand customer business challenges and translate them into effective technical solutions.
Experience in developing and delivering product demonstrations and proof-of-concept solutions.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of Japanese or other regional languages is a plus.
