The Pre-lit Case Manager at J. Hartley Law, APC is a pivotal role designed to enhance and streamline our pre-litigation functions. This position supports the firm's mission of delivering exceptional client outcomes by efficiently managing high-volume caseloads and mentoring junior team members. This leader will leave a tangible operational legacy by optimizing processes and preparing for potential future transitions into litigation.
What you’ll do:
- Operational Support: Contribute to essential legal secretarial and administrative tasks (filings, document organization, calendaring, correspondence) as needed to support case flow and litigation readiness.
- Case Management: Oversee and optimize the pre-litigation function, managing ~50 active cases and reducing cycle time.
- Mentorship: Manage and guide Hansel, our current pre-lit manager, enhancing both his skills and effectiveness.
- Process Development: Develop and document standardized pre-lit processes to ensure efficient and repeatable workflows.
- Hands-On Support: Engage directly in pre-lit tasks such as preparing demand letters and coordinating settlements.
- Secretarial Tasks: Assist with basic legal secretarial duties to support the firm’s litigation efforts.
- Litigation Support: Provide assistance to the owner/trial attorney when needed, based on workload and case volume.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience: At least 5+ years managing high-volume personal injury cases in a plaintiff firm environment.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Process-Driven: Strong capability to design and implement efficient and scalable workflows.
- Communication: Exceptional organizational and communication skills to effectively liaise with team members and clients.
- Litigation Interest: Desire and potential to transition into litigation, enhancing professional growth opportunities.
- Versatility: Ability to manage multiple tasks, including secretarial duties as required.
