A caregiver in this position works days, 7:00am—3:30pm w/on-call requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Retrieve, sort, track, verify receipt of and deliver specimens.
Comply with safety SOP & regulations.
Perform basic clerical and problem-solving functions.
Maintain appropriate documentation.
Communicate and document essential information.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High school diploma or GED
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Six months of patient care experience
EPIC experience
Physical Requirements:
Manual dexterity to perform specimen handling techniques and to take measurements
May require extended periods of standing, walking and/or sitting.
Handles and transports bio hazardous materials.
Visual acuity, including the ability to distinguish colors.
Must have normal or corrected vision.
Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as defined in the exposure control plan.
