A caregiver in this position works days, 8:00am—5:00pm. 


A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Oversee the Pre-Analytic laboratory or Call Center operations for one or multiple sites. 

  • Responsible for all employment related activities, budgets, fiscal performance and adherence to quality and safety guidelines. 

  • Supervise and develop a high performing, customer-oriented team. 

  • Provide leadership and support staff to perform quality work as outlined by department and Cleveland Clinic policies.  

  • Review and ensure the timeliness, accuracy, and quality of work. 

  • Ensure proper staffing levels, workflow and ensure efficient utilization of resources. 

  • Conduct competency assessments and performance appraisals and maintain appropriate documentation. 

  • Review/approve department schedules, paid time off and leave requests. 

  • Coordinate hiring, orientation, scheduling, and staff development including continuing education initiatives. 

  • Assist with policy and procedure development; ensures compliance. 

  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve procedures, processes, speed, quality, and effectiveness. 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree 

  • 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience 

  • 4 years of relative experience 

  • OR High School Diploma/GED, 6 years of supervisory or leadership experience, and 4 years of relative experience 

  • OR Associate’s Degree, 4 years of supervisory or leadership experience, and 4 years of relative experience 
     

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • Phlebotomy Leadership & commercial lab experience 

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
  • Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires dexterity sufficient to operate a computer.
  • May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, biohazards, radioactive materials, etc.
  • Must be able to travel to various Cleveland Clinic sites as needed.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires dexterity sufficient to operate a computer.
  • May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, biohazards, radioactive materials, etc.
  • Must be able to travel to various Cleveland Clinic sites as needed.
