As Practice Manager at Cromwell Hospital, you’ll play a vital role in making this happen by ensuring the smooth, efficient and high‑quality day-to-day running of a prestigious private medical practice.
This is a permanent role where you’ll work closely with Consultants, patients and hospital teams to deliver a seamless, professional and patient-centred service. You’ll be a key leader within the practice, promoting Bupa values and contributing to a world-class hospital culture.
How you’ll help us make health happen
You’ll be responsible for overseeing daily practice operations while delivering exceptional service to both Consultants and patients. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the practice to ensure safe, efficient and effective service delivery
- Supporting Lead Consultants and their colleagues, including diary management, patient scheduling and coordination of clinics
- Line managing the Assistant Practice Manager and any Medical Secretaries within the practice
- Implementing, maintaining and optimising practice management systems (e.g. Semble, Carebit), including developing and documenting processes
- Coordinating clinics across Cromwell Hospital and additional outpatient and diagnostic locations across London
- Acting as a key point of contact between Consultants and the hospital, resolving issues proactively and professionally
- Overseeing patient administration, medical correspondence, record management and data quality across practice and hospital systems
- Ensuring a welcoming, professional experience for patients by actively meeting and greeting visitors and handling queries and complaints
- Liaising effectively with internal departments including theatres, reservations, radiology, pathology, finance and outpatient services
- Identifying opportunities for service improvement, growth and efficiency and feeding back to Consultants and hospital leadership
- Ensuring compliance with hospital policies in relation to health & safety, infection prevention, confidentiality and data protection
Key Skills / Qualifications
Desirable:
- Extensive experience as a Practice Manager within a private medical practice
- Strong operational and people management skills
- Excellent organisation, time management and diary management capabilities
- Confident communicator with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Competent use of IT systems, including Microsoft Office and practice management software
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and manage competing priorities
Desirable:
- Experience working within an orthopaedic or secondary care environment
- Project management or service improvement experience
- Relevant qualifications in practice management, healthcare administration or leadership
