The Benefits and Redemption Officer will ensure accurate and timely processing of pension and collective investment claims, preparation of trustee reports for board presentation, and facilitation of stakeholder engagements. The role also involves monitoring fund availability, preparing operational reports, and supporting compliance with regulatory and governance standards.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

1. Claims Processing

  • Review and process pension and collective investment claims in line with policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Verify documentation and ensure accuracy before disbursement.

2. Reporting

  • Prepare Trustee reports and present them to the Board.
  • Compile and submit periodic operational reports to management and regulators.
  • Maintain accurate records for audit and compliance purposes.

3. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Organize and facilitate member address sessions and other stakeholder meetings.
  • Respond to member inquiries and provide guidance on benefits and claims.

4. Financial Monitoring

  • Monitor bank accounts to ensure sufficient funds for claims and investments.
  • Liaise with finance teams to reconcile accounts and manage liquidity.

5. Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, pension regulations, and investment guidelines.
  • Support audits and implement recommendations.

6. Continuous Improvement

  • Identify process gaps and recommend improvements for efficiency and member satisfaction.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Business discipline or equivalent courses, or other relevant certifications.

  • Full grade 12 certificate

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in pension administration or financial services
