Avantor is looking for a Power BI & Power Platform Support Engineer who can implements operational goals related to software application and hardware support, ensuring smooth functionality and reliable service restoration.
Contributes to the implementation of new troubleshooting processes, support standards, and operational strategies.
Manages smaller applications support projects and processes, coordinating issue resolution, incident management, and system improvements.
Works on recurring but varied technical challenges, requiring analysis of multiple factors such as system dependencies, user environments, and software updates.
Communicates with internal stakeholders—including IT support, engineering, and network services—as well as external partners such as vendors and customers.
Provides technical guidance, troubleshooting expertise, and service resolutions to ensure seamless user experience and system reliability.
MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Power BI Development & Analytics
Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Power BI dashboards and reports, translating business requirements into visualizations, and actionable insights for business and executive audiences.
Power BI Administration & Governance
Administer Power BI environments including workspaces, gateways, capacities (Premium/Fabric), security, access controls, and tenant settings; monitor usage, performance, and capacity utilization using admin portals and metrics apps.
Power Platform Solution Delivery
Develop and support Power Platform solutions including Canvas and Model‑Driven Power Apps, Power Automate cloud flows, and Dataverse-based solutions to automate business processes and enhance operational excellence.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and data owners to gather requirements, manage documentation, and support delivery.
Experience & Certifications
Power BI Experience
3–4 years of hands-on experience in Business Intelligence with a strong focus on Power BI development, support and administration. Advanced knowledge of data visualization best practices, DAX fundamentals, performance optimization, dataset modeling, incremental refresh, and large dataset handling; strong understanding of Power BI Premium capacities and workload management. Strong understanding of BI architectures, SQL query development and optimization, ETL concepts, and working with large datasets from sources such as SQL Server, SAP, Snowflake, or similar platforms.
Power Platform Experience
2–3 years of hands-on experience working with Power Apps (Canvas & Model‑Driven), Power Automate flows, and Dataverse, with understanding of governance, environment strategy, and solution lifecycle. Experience with Dataverse schema design, relationships, and integrations. Power Platform administration (environments, security roles, DLP policies).

Soft Skills & Collaboration
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with business analysts, system analysts, and non‑technical stakeholders.
Analytical & Professional Skills
Excellent problem-solving, planning, and time‑management skills; ability to adapt to changing priorities, handle multiple initiatives, and collaborate effectively in a team-oriented, agile environment.
