Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Power BI Developer with Data Engineering capabilities to join our data and analytics team. The role will be responsible for delivering end-to-end analytics solutions, transforming complex data into actionable insights through intuitive dashboards and reports.
The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Power BI development, along with working knowledge of data engineering concepts such as data pipelines, data modeling, and cloud-based analytics platforms. This role will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, data architects, and engineering teams to design scalable analytics solutions across the enterprise data ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Power BI Development & Visualization
Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to support business decision-making.
Develop advanced DAX calculations and measures for KPIs, time intelligence, and analytical insights.
Optimize report performance using aggregations, incremental refresh, and appropriate dataset modes (Import/DirectQuery).
Build and maintain Power BI Dataflows (Gen1/Gen2) for reusable transformations.
Work with Microsoft Fabric or similar analytics platforms when applicable.
Data Modeling & Semantic Layer
Develop and maintain the semantic layer that connects enterprise datasets to Power BI reports.
Define consistent KPI definitions, business logic, and data standards across reports.
Ensure datasets are clean, structured, and optimized for analytical consumption.
Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data models align with reporting requirements.
Validate and reconcile data accuracy between reporting layers and upstream data sources.
Data Engineering & Pipeline Contribution
Contribute to data pipeline development and orchestration supporting analytics datasets.
Work with SQL, Spark SQL, or PySpark to transform and prepare data for reporting.
Support development or maintenance of data pipelines using tools such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or similar platforms.
Collaborate with data engineers to design scalable data models, partitioning strategies, and optimized query performance.
Assist in building automated workflows that refresh datasets and support reporting operations.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
3–5 years of hands-on experience in Power BI development.
Experience on Microsoft Fabric.
Strong expertise in DAX, Power BI data modeling, and report design.
Experience managing Power BI Service environments, including workspaces, refresh management, and security.
Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and transformation.
Experience connecting Power BI to cloud-based data platforms (Azure, Databricks, Synapse, SQL, etc.).
