We are looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher to advance innovative research in multiscale clay science and geotechnical engineering. The role will focus on developing fundamental and applied insights into clay–fluid interactions, environmental geotechnics, and sustainable soil-based materials using a combination of computational modeling, laboratory experimentation, and data-driven analysis. The successful candidate will support ongoing and emerging research projects, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and help strengthen NTU’s leadership in sustainable geotechnical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research in geotechnical engineering, including waste isolation, contaminant sequestration, sediment transport, geopolymer design, and general soil engineering applications. Responsibilities include performing computational simulations, designing and carrying out experiments, processing data, preparing progress reports, publishing research papers, and assisting in the preparation of research proposals.

  • Mentor junior PhD students, master students, undergraduate students, and potential high school students for their research projects.

Job Requirements:

  • PhD degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering or related field

  • Relevant research experience on geotechnical engineering

  • Relevant research experience in molecular dynamics simulations and computational fluid dynamics will be preferred.

  • Excellent proposal writing and report writing skill

  • Excellent journal paper publication record

  • Self-motivated and able to work on your own and in a team

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Good communication and writing in English as required to publish research

  • Strong responsibility for research.
