What we want

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our dynamic research team focused on advancing knowledge in infectious diseases. In this role, you will conduct cutting-edge investigations into host-pathogen interactions across multiple ongoing projects. Areas of focus include viruses, bacteriophages, tuberculosis, mycobacteria, and other respiratory pathogens.

Salary: Will be commensurate based on the selected hire’s education and experience.   

Location: Bryan, TX

Schedule: Full-Time--This position may require work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends.

Required education and experience

  • Ph.D. in a relevant field such as Microbiology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Virology, or a closely related discipline.

Preferred qualifications

  • PhD, D.V.M. and/or M.D.

  • Record of productive experience in immunology, chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology of pathogens preferred.

Responsibilities

Research

  • Conducts independent research on mycobacterial, viral, and other respiratory pathogens, and publication of results.

  • Designs, develops, and conducts research experiments.

  • Evaluates, selects, and applies standard techniques and procedures.

Research Data

  • Collects, compiles, organizes, and analyzes data.

  • Documents, summarizes, and interprets results.

  • Maintains experimental records and documentation.

Writing

  • Participates and assists with the preparation of manuscripts, grants, and publications of scientific data in peer-revised journals based on research.

Collaboration

  • Attends laboratory meetings and departmental seminars.

  • Interfaces with collaborators to advance projects.

  • Participates in projects involving lab personnel.
