A Postdoctoral fellow position is available for a highly motivated and independent candidate to join the laboratory of Dr. JT Koerber in the Department of Antibody Engineering at Genentech. The Koerber lab leverages antibody and protein engineering to design novel tools and formats to discover new biological insights or mechanisms of action. This position will focus on engineering strategies to control the activity of antibodies. This postdoctoral position will provide an opportunity to develop skills in antibody engineering and collaborate with experts to lead in vitro and in vivo characterization of their function. Candidates with a passion for protein engineering are especially encouraged to apply.

As a member of the Antibody Engineering Department, you will join leaders in developing cutting-edge protein engineering strategies
You will be part of the Genentech post-doctoral training program that provides an outstanding environment and the opportunity to pursue fundamental basic science questions in an environment focused on drug development and breakthrough discoveries.
Who You Are:
Ph.D. with a proven track record of excellence in structural biology, biological engineering, or protein engineering
Must have advanced at least one key research project as evidenced by a first author paper published or accepted in a leading peer-reviewed journal.
Independent scientist with outstanding communication skills, a strong passion and commitment to science and protein engineering, who works well within a team
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with molecular biology and proteins is highly desired
Track record of successfully conducting laboratory experiments
Working knowledge of biochemical techniques is a plus.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco California is $98,000 to $104,500. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
