The Position

The Applied Organoid Technologies group at Roche IHB, led by Lauriane Cabon, focuses on immune engineering human in vitro models of health and disease, particularly in the lung, eye and tumors. Our patient-oriented research leverages the Roche R&D ecosystem for hypothesis generation, model evaluation, and personalized medicine. We also convert organoid-based models and IHB technologies into assays for drug development, based on clinical evidence and preclinical assays. We have extensive experience with human patient-derived cocultures and organoid models in an industry setting. We seek an ambitious postdoctoral researcher to expand our expertise in human airway models and related biology.

Who You Are

To be successful in this role, you should have the following required qualifications

  • Completed a PhD in cellular biology, stem cell biology, tissue bioengineering, or relevant field

  • Hands-on expertise on tissue bioengineering and hydrogels and with human models of the lung would be beneficial. 

  • Experience in design and execution of projects to model airway relevant biology (COPD, infectious diseases, inflammation) in vitro.

  • Methods for phenotyping complex tissues using tissue clearing, whole-mount imaging, single cell technologies, flow cytometry and high resolution microscopy.

  • Strong critical thinking, communication, organization, and presentation skills.
