The College of Engineering’s Department of Materials Science and Engineering is seeking a Post Doctoral Scholar to work under the supervision of Dr. Jinghua Li. The project that the Post Doctoral Scholar will be involved in focuses on the design and integration of bioelectronic platforms, including flexible and wearable devices, chemical/biological sensors, and multimodal interfaces. Areas of interest include:

  • Soft and flexible electronic materials for biointerfaces
  • Chemical and biological sensing (e.g., gas, odor, biomolecules)
  • Signal acquisition, processing, and system integration
  • Closed-loop systems combining sensing and actuation
  • Applications in healthcare, virtual/augmented reality, and human–machine interaction

Required Education:

PhD in Materials Science and Engineering or related field

Desired Education:
 PhD in Materials Science and Engineering or related field

Required Experience:

Demonstrated expertise in bioelectronics, materials science, or a closely related field; Strong track record of peer-reviewed publications; Hands-on experience with device fabrication, characterization, and data analysis; Proven ability to design and execute independent research projects; Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired Experience:

Experience with flexible or wearable electronic systems; Background in chemical or biological sensing; Familiarity with signal processing, embedded systems, or machine learning; Experience with hardware–software co-design and system integration; Prior experience mentoring undergraduate or graduate students
