Zhang Lab - StaffKey Roles and Responsibilities:
The Postdoctoral Fellow design and execute experiments and use various molecular (e.g., qPCR) and histological (e.g., immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence) techniques to generate data.
The Postdoctoral Fellow will interpret experimental results and analyze data generated from their studies.
The Postdoctoral Fellow will lead knowledge dissemination through manuscript preparation efforts and take an active role in internal and external data presentations, and aid in the development of external funding applications.
The Postdoctoral Fellow will be responsible for oversight of mouse colony management.
Routine lab maintenance and ordering of supplies.

Required Qualifications:
Education: PhD in biomedical sciences.
Work Experience:
Experience in a wet bench laboratory
Experience in data evaluation for bulk RNA-seq and snRNA-seq
Mentorship of junior technicians and trainees within a laboratory setting.
Mentorship with undergraduates and volunteer students
This position requires a formal degree in the cited discipline area(s) to ensure that candidates have the foundational knowledge and skill set required to perform the duties of the position. The level of degree is based on accreditation requirements, institutional standards of academic and professional excellence, alignment with peer institution benchmarks, and contributes to the credibility and effectiveness of the role within the university community.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: PhD in toxicology with a liver focus.
Working Experience
3 years of experience in Pharmacology and Toxicology research specifically in the liver field and experience in a wet bench laboratory
3 years of experience in data evaluation for bulk RNA-seq and snRNA-seq and Molecular and Cellular Biology data presentation and scientific writing skills.
Design and performance of experiments, creating graphs, knowledge of statistics, interpretation and dissemination of data.
3-years of mentorship of junior technicians and trainees within a laboratory setting and mentorship with undergraduates and high school students.

Compensation Statement:
The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
