The Post Doctoral Associate performs scientific research and studies under the supervision of managing staff. Moreover, the Post Doctoral Associate promotes institutional recognition through literal contributions to the scientific community.

Department Specific Functions

Research and Scholarship

  • Conduct independently designed and collaborative research studies in line with mission and strategic goals of the department, school, and institution, maintaining the highest standards of rigor and ethical conduct.
  • Prepare and revise manuscripts for publication in top-tier, peer-reviewed journals.
  • Present research findings at national and international academic conferences and professional meetings.
  • Regularly produce scholarly outputs as documented evidence of productivity and impact.

Grant Writing and Project Development

  • Assist in the identification and pursuit of external funding sources.
  • Author and/or co-author research proposals and grant applications.
  • Coordinate the execution of pilot study for competitive funding submissions.

Professional Development

  • Serve as a research mentor and collaborator with graduate and undergraduate students, supporting their scholarly growth.
  • Foster and participate in collaborative research networks with faculty in the department and beyond and external stakeholders.
  • Organize or lead research workshops, symposia, and brownbag.
  • Actively participate in professional development programming related to research, teaching, and academic career preparation.

Teaching and Curriculum Development

  • Participate in teaching, curriculum development, and/or course innovation in alignment with candidate’s interest and project scope.
  • Provide guest lectures as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications                                                                 

Education:

Doctoral degree in Teaching and Learning, Education, or related discipline

Experience:

Experience with or potential for success in grant writing and/or large project administration preferred

Potential for external grant funding

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated ability to publish and present academic work.
  • Collaborative ability to work effectively with colleagues, students, and external partners.
  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
