Portfolio Reconciliations Analyst

As a Senior Reconciliation Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the integrity of our global investment portfolios by performing accurate daily and monthly reconciliations across cash, transactions, and securities holdings. This role supports Manulife’s mission by safeguarding financial data relied on by our Treasury, Securities Accounting, and Investment teams worldwide. You’ll have the opportunity to apply your technical expertise, deepen your knowledge of financial instruments, and develop leadership skills as a back‑up reviewer/solver. Position Responsibilities

• Perform daily cash and transaction reconciliations between internal records and custodians.
• Provide Treasury with accurate opening balance adjustments.
• Complete monthly holdings reconciliations and report discrepancies to key stakeholders.
• Serve as back‑up reviewer/solver by validating reconciliations and signing off completed work.
• Investigate discrepancies with custodial banks, internal teams, and other business units.
• Respond to internal client inquiries and ensure timely clearing of outstanding items.
• Maintain documentation and organized reconciliation files for daily/monthly cycles.
• Support continuous process improvements and recommend enhancements.
• Participate in cross‑training to ensure business continuity.
• Adhere to SOX documentation and compliance requirements.
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Investment/Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in reconciliation within banking or securities administration.
• Experience with securities instruments, FX, derivatives, settlements, and banking processes.
• Experience using investment systems, custodian reporting systems, Bloomberg, or reconciliation tools.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to work the night shift.
• Must be pursuing CISI or an equivalent designation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of complex securities and investment accounting principles.
• Experience supporting General Accounts or large-scale investment portfolios.
• Exposure to SOX environments.
• Demonstrated ability to manage escalations and aged items.
• Strong stakeholder management skills.
