About The Job
As Portfolio Manager for Pharma, you will take ownership of driving the commercial performance and strategic direction of our product portfolio. With a strong business mindset, you will translate market insights and customer needs into clear priorities and actions that ensure a competitive and profitable offering. Working cross-functionally, you will balance business opportunities with operational realities, enabling effective decision-making across sales, supply, engineering, and R&D. This role requires a hands-on, commercially driven profile who can navigate complexity and turn strategy into tangible results.
Key responsibilities:
Translate customer needs and market insights into clear portfolio priorities and value-driven offerings
Own portfolio performance by analyzing profitability, competitiveness, and lifecycle, and initiating concrete improvement actions
Define and drive the portfolio strategy, roadmap, and product positioning in the market
Lead pricing strategy and ensure alignment with value proposition and market dynamics
Drive cross-functional alignment to balance investment in portfolio with commercial opportunities, development cost, and resource constraints across Sales, Supply, Engineering, and R&D
At Alfa Laval, we embrace a hybrid work model, providing you the flexibility to work from home when it aligns with your tasks. This position is at our Felmingsberg office, with an expected travel commitment of approximately 45 – 50 days per year.
What You Know
University degree in engineering, industrial marketing, or a related field, combining technical understanding with commercial insight
Several years of experience in portfolio management, business development, or similar commercial roles, preferably within pharma, biotech, or life sciences
Strong understanding of how to develop and manage product portfolios in regulated, complex environments
Experience from biotech and/or life science industries is a strong advantage
Proven ability to translate market and customer insights into portfolio and business decisions that drive growth and competitiveness
Comfortable working in cross-functional, international environments, balancing technical, commercial, and operational priorities

You are comfortable working with incomplete or uncertain information and validate assumption through several sources and making sound decisions when needed. With strong analytical capability, you turn insights into clear actions and data driven priorities.
