An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented individual to join Technology Platforms as a Portfolio, Delivery Performance & Governance Manager.

Technology Platforms is a critical and foundational enabling function within Digital & IT that delivers seamless user centric, Infrastructure & Operational services to the business in conjunction with the business partnering domains and wider shared services functions.

Technology Platforms manages and delivers a significant and complex portfolio, designing, building, implementing, running and maintaining technology platforms and services for IT, Business and Customer funded technology programmes. Technology Platforms is also accountable for the day to day run and maintain of the global IT landscape, managing IT operating costs and supplier contractual adherence and performance.

Reporting to the VP, Portfolio, Delivery Performance & Governance, this is a pivotal role supporting the overall performance and success of the Technology Platforms function, this is also a critical interface role between Technology Platforms and the Partnering and wider shared services functions.

Responsibilities:

Deliver robust Portfolio planning and management across all aspects of Technology platforms:

  • Working in conjunction with the Technology Towers, Strategic Projects and EA community, support the annual demand management process for TP.
  • Support the change control and demand re-prioritisation process.
  • Interface into the central PMO function for portfolio matters.
  • Support the impact assessment and shaping of divisional and wider shared services portfolio requirements on TP, determines deliverability and prioritisation against the TP portfolio plan. 
  • Support the consolidation of strategic roadmaps which incorporates IT, Business and Customer funded.

Delivering the Portfolio – ensuring that the strategic intent of the portfolio is realised through the delivery of projects and programmes:

  • Supporting the central management and governance of the investment committee process:

  • Ensuring that investment papers are scheduled and delivered throughout the year in line with the portfolio plan.
  • Support the production of IT investment papers ensuring that all IC papers meet the quality requirements and diligently justify the business case.
  • In conjunction with the Tech Towers support the assessment of business and customer funded papers ensuring that TP impact assessment is thoroughly conducted and clearly represented in the papers.
  • Support the PMO demand forum.

  • Project Delivery - Deliver a step change in project delivery with all projects delivered to time, cost and quality:

  • Support the management of the TP Capital budget – ensuring that Tech Towers meet the financial forecasts and treatment plans are implemented promptly to remediate any deviation.
  • Support the centralised project health reporting and governance – ensuring that projects deliver to time, cost and quality and treatment plans are implemented promptly to remediate any deviation.
  • Ensure that OPC is accurate across all TP delivery – this includes project 4 box updates to reflect.
  • Consolidate the TP portfolio resourcing plan ensuring that all resources are allocated effectively.
  • Provide a centralised view of the TP RAID.
  • Support clear communication between project teams and stakeholders, ensuring effective information flow and collaboration to meet objectives.
  • Manage a team of Project analysts, supporting each of the technology towers.

Governance & Reporting – Ensuring that TP is providing robust reporting on performance across all aspects of the function:

  • Support the production of the consolidated TP reporting for the MBR & QBR process, demonstrating the value that the function is delivering for the D&IT and wider business.
  • Support the production of new monthly divisional reports showing key TP deliverables to support the strategic plans of the Divisional groups.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of reporting mechanisms and processes, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, leverage existing tools and automate.
  • Support the delivery of any additional ad-hoc or new reporting requirements.
  • Support the TP governance framework ensuring that the governance framework is robust and deliver tangible and effective outcomes for the function.
  • Manage the TP governance and reporting requirements ensuing that they are aligned with governance forums/meetings providing a direct feed of required information.
  • Simplify and streamline reporting ensuring that governance is simplified, standardised and not onerous.

  • Leadership skills to support cross-functional teams and collaborate across all functional groups within TP and the wider D&IT organisation.
  • Experience of working in a complex, multi-faceted and large-scale Portfolio environment.
  • Experience of supporting programme and portfolio delivery.
  • Experience of managing project finances.
  • The ability to work with and communicate effectively across all levels within the organisation.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills to resolve complex, ambiguous issues.
  • Strong attention to detail with meticulous organisational skills to manage schedules, documentation, and reporting.
