“I can succeed as a Senior Manager of Portfolio Architecture, supporting Global Business Services (GBS) and Corporate functions at Capital Group”
Capital Group is seeking a seasoned technology leader to join our Global Technology Strategy & Architecture (GTSA) organization as a Senior Manager, Portfolio Architecture, supporting Global Business Services (GBS) and Corporate functions.
This is a hands‑on, highly collaborative leadership role. You will partner closely with GBS business and technology leaders to shape portfolio architecture strategy and define future‑state direction. Your focus will be on modernizing and simplifying the GBS technology landscape—translating complex business challenges into clear, future‑ready architectures and pragmatic roadmaps that support Capital Group’s Long‑Term Strategic Plan.
Key Responsibilities include:
You will lead and influence enterprise and solution architecture strategy for GBS technologies in close partnership with business and technology leaders.
You will integrate business strategy, current technology portfolios, and external industry trends into target‑state architectures and multi‑year roadmaps for GBS capabilities and applications.
You will provide architecture leadership for complex, strategic GBS initiatives; facilitate design and decision‑making workshops; guide trade‑off discussions; and work closely with business, engineering, platform, data, and security teams to drive strong delivery outcomes.
You will develop and communicate clear architectural narratives and business cases to support alignment and informed decision‑making among both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
You will identify and enable high‑value AI opportunities across GBS while ensuring appropriate enterprise guardrails and controls are in place.
You will lead and manage a team of architects (including hiring as needed), providing coaching, performance support, and capability development.
“I am the person Capital Group is looking for.”
You have a bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
You have 10+ years of experience in architecture, technology strategy, or complex solution delivery.
You have broad expertise across applications, integration, data, security, and cloud/platform technologies.
You have strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders through clear, business‑focused communication.
You have comfort operating in ambiguity—driving alignment, making trade‑offs explicit, and guiding teams toward decisions.
You have a proven track record of translating complex needs into clear, actionable architectures.
You have experience enabling AI capabilities responsibly within enterprise governance frameworks.
You have experience leading teams directly and/or through strong matrix leadership models.
You have a strong understanding of architectural principles, standards, and governance frameworks in a global setting.
Join us to help shape the future of GBS technology at Capital Group—where architecture, strategy, and impact come together.
