Job Description Summary:

This position is responsible for providing strategic and tactical guidance and oversight for key Information Service architecture decisions within OhioHealth. Associates in this position are charged with understanding the OhioHealth business strategy and defining information systems architecture to support that strategy. Associates will use their extensive individual expertise as well as their team facilitation and team leadership experience in the analysis, design, and specification phases for multiple enterprise wide projects. Activities include developing and reviewing detailed design requirements, identifying functional and non-functional requirements, evaluating and anticipating impact of technical solutions, writing technical specifications, evaluating vendor products, and preparing and presenting recommendations for executive management. Under minimal supervision, associate must be able to effectively prioritize workload, consistently deliver assignments on time, produce high quality deliverables and proactively coordinate and leverage internal OH resources to coordinate projects. Associate must actively stay abreast of industry trends and direction to ensure the technology and application architecture is aligned or setting industry best practices.

Responsibilities And Duties:

1. Applies extensive knowledge and expertise of computing architecture, application design, solution development and deployment to solve complex business problems and achieve strategic initiatives. Translates the business strategy into the technology vision and strategy.

2. Prepares architectural documents and presentations to be shared with a variety of audiences ranging from technical experts to executive leadership.

3. Working closely with various teams throughout IT and the business units, facilitates, develops, communicates and documents changes and enhancements to enterprise IT architecture standards, policies and procedures.

4. Maintains a high level of competency stays abreast of industry trends in state-of-the-art hardware, software and application technologies in order to effectively develop enterprise architecture strategies.

5. Educates business, clinical, technical, and application teams to align and integrate their designs and solutions with enterprise IT architecture standards.

6. Mentors and educates IT staff to facilitate system architecture designs, incorporating diverse individuals from business, clinical, technical, and application teams. Reviews proposed architectures for compliance with established standards.

Additional Job Description:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field. Advanced experience with several of the following networking infrastructure; storage area networks; personal computers; server operating systems; design of high availability systems; interface design and development; information security; database design and structure; web services; application and data integration and interoperability; server, storage and network virtualization; and application design and development. - Experience with one or more of the following enterprise architecture frameworks TOGAF, FEAF, DoDAF, Zachman, etc. - Expert skills in architecture planning and design; analyzing business processes; coordinating and facilitating enterprise-wide initiatives from idea inception and requirements specification through design and development. - Knowledge of cloud computing, sAAS, PAAS, IAAS and experience evaluating those offerings from service providers to solve specific needs 5-10 years experience as a technical or application architect responsible for designing and developing enterprise-level systems in a large information technology environment or 5-10 years experience managing technical or application development teams
