Title: Portable Washroom Service Technician
Reports To: Porta/Septic Manager
Location: Thunder Bay and Region
Job Description Summary
GFL Environmental Services in Thunder Bay, ON is looking for Portable Washroom Service Technicians to join their Northern team! The day to day responsibilities of this role will include: delivering and servicing portable toilets/trailers, preparation of units and maintaining work trucks.
Please note: Candidates must be willing to travel regionally; frequent driving within Thunder Bay and surrounding communities is required, including the ability to complete overnight assignments as scheduled.
Key Responsibilities:
● Work with the scheduler (porta, septic and grease traps department).
● Work with yard person on prioritizing equipment cleaning and unit maintenance for bookings.
● Delivering Portable Toilets and washroom trailers (Thunder Bay and throughout the region).
● Servicing Portable Toilets – Pumping out Sewage/Cleaning/Stocking units.
● Maintenance of Portable washrooms and Portable washroom trailers.
● Preparing units for weekend deliveries.
● Cleaning and maintenance of grease traps for local businesses and restaurants.
● Operate and drive company vehicles, including septic pumping trucks.
● Maintaining upkeep, cleanliness of work vehicles and job sites.
● Interact with customers, co-workers and supervisors.
● Other tasks as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Key Competencies:
● Minimum Valid G license – Clean Driver’s Abstract Required.
● Flexibility to work days and weekends.
● Must be Familiar with Thunder Bay and Surrounding Areas.
● Experienced with physical labour, working outside, possible extended hours.
● Ability to troubleshoot and resolve potential problems before they result in service issues.
● Driving Experience with large trucks and pulling trailers.
