Job Summary: You will serve as a POLICE OFFICER in the COMMANDER NAVY INSTALLATIONS COMMAND (CNIC) of NAS FALLON SEC DET. GS-5 salary range; $40,896 - $53,165 GS-6 salary range; $45,587 - $59,263

Major Duties:

  • You will conduct physical security checks of buildings or facilities during an assigned shift.
  • You will protect a crime scene to turn over information gathered at the scene of an incident to detectives or investigators.
  • You will compile evidence in accordance with mandated procedures.
  • You will conduct investigative stops on violators of traffic laws.
  • You will control access to secure areas by determining which vehicles or personnel have credentials for entry.

For the GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Issues citations in violation of law enforcement regulations; 2) Conducts investigations related to critical incidents i.e., traffic accidents, domestic violence, assaults, child abuse/neglect) in accordance to policies and procedures; 3) Interviews witnesses to gather information about incidents; and 4) Conducts inspections of vehicles to detect the unauthorized removal of classified material, government property, contraband, weapons, explosives or any items detrimental to security. For the GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Apprehending personnel by the use of force or police equipment (i.e., firearms, taser, Oleoresin Capsicum(OS) spray); 2) Preparing police reports concerning incidents and actions taken; and 3) Responding to emergency calls for service while adhering to state and federal laws. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Completion of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Uniformed Police Training Program is a condition of continued employment. Employee will be required to sign a continuing service agreement prior to travel to the academy. "Agreement to Continue in Service - CSA, Agency requires 36 months of continued employment after the completion of required training from the FLETC in accordance with Title 5 USC 4108 and 5 CFR410.309. Failure to voluntary complete length of employment requirement can subject employee to reimburse to the agency for fees, such as tuition and related fees, travel, and other special expenses (excluding salary) paid in connection with the training."
