Job Summary: THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a POLICE OFFICER, Position Description Number D2156000 and is part of the 190th Security Forces SQ Topeka, KS. Kansas Air National Guard.
Major Duties:
Qualifications: Military Grades: E-1 through E-7 Compatible Military Assignments: 3P0X1 * Must be willing and able to cross train into the compatible AFSC GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have an understanding of the basic principles and concepts of military security forces functions, laws, policies, regulations, rules, procedures, and methods. Also, have general experience performing functions such as weapon systems and resource security, air base defense, law enforcement; and, if applicable for the position, experience in handling combat arms functions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have experience equivalent to one year to at the next lower grade level that provides you with knowledge of a body of basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques and involved responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property. Creditable specialized experience may have been gained in work on a police force; through service as a military police officer; in work providing visitor protection and law enforcement in parks, forests, or other natural resource or recreational environments; in performing criminal investigative duties; or in other work that provided the required knowledge and skills. Physical Demands: Works on different terrain surfaces, in work areas that require standing, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries tools, parts, materials, weapons, and equipment that may weigh up to 50 pounds. May occasionally handle items that weigh up to 75 pounds. Specialized material handling equipment is available for heavier items. Work Environment: Work will require standing on feet for extended periods of time, lifting up to 50 pounds and low/high crawling up to 25 meters. Work may take place in a variety of weather conditions. Work efforts include running short distances and move over, around, and through obstacles to heights of 10 feet. Walking is required (i.e., 1000 meters) and may occur in extreme temperatures over rough terrain. The work is sometimes dirty, dusty, and greasy. Incumbent is frequently exposed to the possibility of noisy conditions that require the use of personal protective equipment (e.g. ear plugs, eye protection, and gloves).
