About the Role

GEICO is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead critical modernization efforts within our Policy Platform. This role will focus on simplifying GEICO’s policy management system, decomposing monolithic components into modular, domain-driven microservices, and establishing a foundation for our next-generation policy platform

You will work across engineering, architecture, and partner business systems to deliver immediate, high-impact improvements while shaping the long-term modernization strategy. This position is ideal for a seasoned product manager who thrives on untangling complex systems, driving clarity in ambiguity, and balancing tactical wins with strategic transformation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Platform Simplification & Modularization

  • Lead the initiative to decompose the existing monolithic policy management system into independent, domain-based microservices aligned with future-state architecture.
  • Collaborate with engineering and architecture to define API-first integration strategies & service boundaries to build a more modular, scalable platform.

2. Business Rules Rationalization

  • Simplify the current business rules implementation, which spans several lines & states that are co-mingled within a single configuration.
  • Establish a rules taxonomy and modularization strategy that enables cleaner separation of state-specific and product-specific rules.

3. Cross-System Partnership & Tactical Enhancements

  • Engage with partner systems across the enterprise (Underwriting, Billing, Claims, Customer Service, etc.) to identify critical pain points in current-state integrations.
  • Drive incremental improvements that directly reduce operational friction, improve data quality, and increase policy system reliability — delivering value before full modernization is complete.
  • Prioritize opportunities that maximize business impact while maintaining architectural integrity.

4. Product Strategy & Execution

  • Define and maintain a clear, measurable modernization roadmap with milestones, KPIs, and stakeholder visibility.
  • Balance short-term tactical fixes with long-term modernization goals to ensure consistent progress.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, program management, and business operations to ensure delivery predictability and alignment with platform strategy.

5. Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the voice of the customer and partner systems within the Policy Platform team, ensuring product decisions are data-driven and outcome-oriented.
  • Communicate progress, trade-offs, and key learnings effectively to executive stakeholders and partner teams.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience in complex enterprise platforms, ideally within insurance, fintech, or other regulated industries.
  • Strong track record of simplifying legacy systems, driving system decomposition, and leading modernization initiatives.
  • Experience in microservice-based architecture, API ecosystems, and rules engine frameworks.

  • Exceptional ability to translate complex technical challenges into clear business outcomes and actionable roadmaps.

  • Strong collaboration and influence skills across product, engineering, and business domains.

---

Preferred Experience

  • Hands-on experience with policy management or insurance platforms, such as Duck Creek, Guidewire, or in-house policy systems.
  • Exposure to SaaS vendor evaluations,
  • Experience working within multi-state, multi-product line insurance ecosystems.
  • Understanding of data model design, configuration management, and compliance validation in policy administration systems.
  • Demonstrated success driving incremental modernization in parallel with long-term platform transformation.
