TRAVEL REQUIRED: UK travel - several times a month

LOCATION: Portsmouth (60% of your working week must be office based)

ABOUT THE ROLE 

We are seeking a PMO Manager who will play a key role across the full contract lifecycle – Bidding, Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring/Controlling and Closing. You will be reporting to the Head of PMO and work closely with the wider PMO, Project Managers, Work Package Managers, Financial Controlling, Lead Engineers and Supply Managers to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget and to the required quality standards

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM 

  • Co-ordinating the implementation of appropriate business management tools, relevant methodologies, business process and project management tools, templates and documentation.

  • Meet the evolving needs of Space Digital, including: Conforming to recognised best business management practice, standards and continuous improvement

  • Helping to build a Programme Governance aware culture within the business including appropriate education in the processes, tools and reporting of projects.

  • Managing key stakeholders, facilitating governance reviews and communicating complex information clearly and effectively

  • Leading /Co-ordinating the day-to-day management of the PMO team assigned to projects

  • Provide oversight and reporting on project performance – Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Issues, Dependencies, Earned Value Management (EVM) and resource demand.

 

ABOUT YOU

  • Knowledge and experience of aerospace and defence industry is desirable

  • Track record with technical projects including scheduling, logic checking, earned value, risk management and best practice.

  • Experience in resource management, planning and forecasting 

  • Experience in working within a PMO including scheduling, cost control, risk management and configuration control

  • Good understanding/experience in using scheduling software such as Primavera P6 and MS Project and risk analysis software, such as Active Risk Manager, Primavera Risk Analysis
