What You’ll Be Doing

As a PMO Governance Lead, you will join CIBC’s Technology department to ensure project control procedures and policies within several project(s) or a program are executed, appropriate and functioning. Your mandate is to develop and implement overall portfolio governance for consolidated reporting and tracking of Technology-managed initiatives for our internal and business partners. Your strategic objectives are to standardize PMO tools, processes and metrics while showing transparency and consistency for reporting the project status and key attributes at different levels.  You will be responsible for eliminating inconsistencies, overhead and duplications as well as early detection and remediation for any exposure to non-compliance to standards (deficiencies and gaps).

How You’ll Succeed

  • Governance & Control – Communicate the Project Governance and Control framework. Manage early detection and reporting of compliance gaps through regular Quality Controls - Self Audit and Health checks to ensure compliance and early detection and remediation of deviations. Explore and implement reporting and governance process improvement opportunities, as well as capacity planning and time management tools/processes. 
  • Tracking & Reporting - Manage consistent metrics for measuring and reporting for all projects.  Oversee the central project portfolio roster with financial and non-financial attributes which includes key relevant metrics. Responsible for the Project Portfolio Scorecard and Planview attestations. 
  • Coordination - Provide support in advisory capacity to the Project Managers and core partners in terms of reporting, Planview, Project Management related standards and policies.  You will also work with SharePoint and various PMO tools administration.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate a minimum of 2 years’ experience in an IT Project Mgmt. Office and hands on experience working with MS Project Tools: Excel, Work, Power Point, and Visio, and are familiar with the Project Lifecycle, Waterfall and Agile.
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills. You are comfortable with advanced communications with all levels including team members, management teams, business partners, and executives.
  • You have advanced proficiency in Excel, including complex formulas and dynamic arrays, PivotTables/Charts, Power Query/Power Pivot, and automation through macros/VBA.
  • You give meaning to data. You enjoy investigating complex problems and making sense of information. You're confident in your ability to solve problem through data analysis and communicate detailed information in an impactful way.
