Job Summary
The PMCM Practice Manager is responsible for establishing and expanding a sustainable Practice consisting of Project and Construction Management for infrastructure and facilities across the Area. This includes providing leadership, business development and strategic marketing, client relationship management, project delivery, and recruitment and retention of key staff. The successful individual may function in a senior project management / seller-doer capacity initially and transition to more of a pure leadership, business development and client relationship role as the practice matures. The successful candidate will be very familiar with the area markets, be an aggressive starter with well-established contacts, and have demonstrated success in a relevant client development enterprise.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Development
- Research and identify PMCM market growth opportunities in the area
- Develop implement, monitor and update marketing/business development plans with short and long-range goals
- Develop and implement solution-oriented sales approaches detailed to customer market and requirements
- Work with the Area Sector Managers, Practice Leaders, Growth Leaders and Project Managers to develop strategies for cultivating prospects and obtaining work
- Engage with Practice Leader and Area Manager in making go/no-go decisions on project pursuits
- Manage pursuits including teaming, proposal writing and preparation of formal interview presentations
- Responsible for achieving agreed upon annual sales goals
- Responsible for achieving new client targets included in annual sales plans
Project Delivery
- Serve as Project Principal or Project Manager on major pursuits
- Coordinate work with agency/owner, contractor, utilities and other stakeholders
- Perform regular operational review of on-going projects
- Prepare/approve Quality Assurance Plans for projects
- Prepare staffing plans and workload projections Implement established project management, construction engineering and inspection safety procedures and guidelines on project(s).
- Follow prescribed Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures
Connecting and Building Talent
- In conjunction with the Practice Leadership Team, utilizing key partners in Shared services including Talent Attraction Leaders and HR Business Partners, identifies strategic hires and talent development needs, by defining strategic workforce gaps, and participates in the attraction and acquisition of key hires
- Partnering with the Leadership Team, influences, guides, and coaches the development and cultivation of a best-in-class team of managers, project managers and field staff to collectively support the objectives of the strategic plan
- Facilitates mobilization and assignment of senior resources, project managers, and specialists to opportunities and projects for key clients
Measures/KPIs:
- Sales, revenue, and margin performance on strategic initiatives for TYLin within the Area
- Sales growth to meet or exceed strategic plan targets for profitable growth (YoY growth) in the Area
- Expansion of the Practice portfolio in the Area
- Win rate with TYLin key clients
- Key client satisfaction
QUALIFICATIONS (INCLUDING EDUCATION and/or JOB EXPERIENCE):
- Requires bachelor’s degree in engineering, planning or related field (PE/CCM registration/certification preferred but not required).
- Strong Business Development/Marketing experience with a proven track record.
- 15 years of increasingly responsible experience in a similar function for an A/E/C firm
- History of developing and maintaining effective business relationships with clients and peers.
- Demonstrated success in growing a group, division or company desired
- Excellent verbal and written and presentation skills are required.

TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $215,000- $296,000 annually for this position and local market.
