Job Description

THIS POSITION HAS NO DIRECT MANAGEMENT OR SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

POSITION SUMMARY

The PM Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing scheduled preventive maintenance on injection molding machines and related equipment to ensure optimal performance, minimize downtime, and extend equipment life. This role supports production by maintaining the reliability and safety of machinery and systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks on injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment (e.g., dryers, chillers, conveyors), and facility systems.
  • Inspect, clean, lubricate, and adjust mechanical components according to maintenance schedules.
  • Document maintenance activities, findings, and corrective actions in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Identify potential equipment issues and report them to the maintenance team for corrective action.
  • Replace worn or damaged parts and perform minor repairs as needed.
  • Assist with equipment calibration and validation procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with safety and 5S standards.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED required, technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in maintenance, preferably in injection molding or plastics manufacturing.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance procedures.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with CMMS software.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or shifts, as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing.
  • Exposure to manufacturing environment with noise, heat, and moving machinery.
