We are seeking an energetic, dependable, and safety-focused Journeyperson Plumber to join our Maintenance team at Base Plant in Fort McMurray. In this role, you will report to the team lead and be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing, heating, and gas systems to ensure safe and efficient operations. This is a high-functioning role where your expertise and commitment to safety will have a direct impact on our operations. 5 or more years of related experience in an industrial environment; oil sands maintenance experience is an asset
Experience working with boiler systems
Valid Alberta Journeyperson Plumber Certificate or Interprovincial Red Seal Certification
Gasfitter Class B Certification (minimum requirement)
Completed OSSA and CSTS safety training
High School Diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Key Accountabilities:
Ensure all plumbing work complies with applicable codes and standards
Provide hands-on technical support within the plumbing trade
Disconnect and remove plumbing connections; cut and strip water, sewer, and gas piping
Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine system layouts
Troubleshoot and test plumbing fixtures and systems
Safely operate a wide variety of hand and power tools
Working Conditions:
You will work out of our Base Plant Mine in Fort McMurray, Alberta
The shift schedule is a 4 days on/5 days off/ 5 days on/4 days off/5 days on/5 days off rotation: 12-hour shifts)
This position is safety sensitive
This role involves physical work, including heavy lifting, climbing ladders, and working at heights on scaffolds or aerial work platforms. You’ll need to be comfortable working in diverse environments; indoors, outdoors, and occasionally in confined spaces
