Plumber

Under the general supervision of the maintenance supervisor assist in achieving departmental goals, using hand and power tools to fabricate and repair items by sketches, diagrams or manufacture specification. Shift : 1:00PM - 9:30PM (2nd Shift) Monday - Friday.

Under the general supervision of the maintenance supervisor assist in achieving departmental goals, using hand and power tools to fabricate and repair items by sketches, diagrams or manufacture specification.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides lead supervision for project helpers. Responsibilities of coordinating and assigning specific job duties. Ensures quality, quantity, thoroughness of helper assigned duties.
  • Interprets and clarifies work order request for all types of plumbing duties. Evaluates to ensure request do not violate regulatory codes. Responds to request with time frame of completion and cost estimate.
  • Orders material according to specifications. Interprets blueprints, sketches, to determine specific material list. Evaluates inventory and re-order necessary material to maintain minimum stock.
  • Assists staff with related work request to accurately determine specific needs. Draws rough sketches to assure clear understanding of request. Measures items or areas in order to fabricate or submit measurement to vendor for cost estimate.
  • Uses hand and power tools to fabricate necessary request. Uses job related equipment to perform quality work by specification. Measures parts, and equipment to duplicate.
  • Installs plumbing related equipment submitted by vendor. Evaluates to ensure meet designed specification. Assembles and installs equipment as specified by manufacturer.
  • Provides certification testing of backflow prevention devices. Tests and install necessary device to meet regulatory codes. Submits certification testing to regulatory agency.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or directed in order to meet the goals and objectives of the department.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

Minimum Education and/or Training:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum of five years experience as a journeyman plumber

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by SJCRH Only:

  • Cross Connection Control Certification or Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester Certification required within 12 months of employment.
  • Journeyman license preferred.

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $24.50 - $40.50 per hour for the role of Plumber.
