Objective of the position

As a PLM Specialist, you will own the onboarding and implementation of Teamcenter, taking responsibility for system configuration, data migration, and the definition of governance standards that will support the organization for the next decade. You will train and support engineers in the effective day‑to‑day use of Teamcenter, ensuring consistent adoption and best practices across teams. The role also involves close collaboration with offshore delivery teams to maintain alignment and ensure smooth execution.

This is not a pure data‑transfer role. We are looking for a change‑agent who will challenge existing ways of working, improve and standardize BOM structures, cleanse and rationalize legacy data, and introduce smarter, more scalable approaches such as configurable product structures and automated processes. Acting as a key interface between engineering, IT, and product management, you will help build a robust, future‑proof PLM and engineering data landscape.

Characterization of activities

  • Lead and support the migration of engineering data from legacy PLM systems into Siemens Teamcenter.
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain BOM structures that enable modularity, configurability, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Cleanse, rationalize, and standardize legacy engineering data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Design and implement advanced engineering data concepts, including configurable BOMs, part numbering standards, and design libraries.
  • Collaborate with global engineering, IT, and product management teams to align PLM structures with business and technical requirements.
  • Provide hands‑on support for day‑to‑day PLM operations, data governance, and end‑user training.
  • Provide support for mechanical design activities across various projects, as required.

Education, experience and knowledge

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Administration Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong engineering background with experience in mechanical and/or electrical product development.
  • Hands-on experience with PLM migration projects, preferably Teamcenter; exposure to Windchill, Enovia, or SAP PLM is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of BOM structuring, configuration management, and engineering data management.
  • Experience with CAD integration in PLM environments (e.g., NX, CATIA, Creo) and PLM-related data processes.
  • Ability to translate engineering requirements into structured PLM solutions; fluent (business) English communication skills, Dutch is a plus.
