The Business Unit Food Processing and Packaging offers leading processing technology for the poultry, meat, fish, vegetarian and meat-replacement markets. Our portfolio contains - either stand-alone or complete automated lines, which can be integrated with freezing and packaging solutions.

Within our Division Food & Health Technologies we are looking for a Software Engineer. The location for this position will be our machine manufacturing plant Bakel in the Netherlands which is part of the Business Unit Food Processing and Packaging.

Responsibilities / Tasks

As a PLC Software Engineer, you are responsible for the design and realization of the software for our single machines, complete production lines, lifecycle development.

Tasks:

  • Developing and Programming of software on your own and as part of a team depending on the size of the project.

  • Developing standard and customer specific applications and install these globally at our customers.

  • Support other GEA colleagues globally via remote support.

  • Training customers on our machines and software applications.

  • Translating a customer request to a workable software solution.

Your Profile / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

  • Self-supportive, result driven, team player.

  • Willingness to travel globally (10 to 20%).

  • Fluent in English, spoken and written.

  • Experience within similar function is preferred.

  • Knowledge of IEC 61131-3 and Structured Text is a preferred.

  • Knowledge of Rockwell is preferred.

  • Knowledge of B&R PLC’s is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming software (Java)is preferred.
