Platform Engineer Manager

Responsibilities

• Responsible for managing data platform operations and administration activities and teams.
• Responsible for delivering core DBA activities as database installation, configuration, patching, backup-recovery, performance tuning, monitoring across cloud and on-prem based OLTP and OLAP databases.
• Provide design and maintenance support on RDS(PostgreSQL), Microsoft SQL Server, Snowflake databases.
• Responsible for leading data operation support activities including cloud-based data workflow SLA adherence, job failure remediation, data reliability engineering.
• Responsible for data platform risk and vulnerability management and remediation.
• Requires knowledge on service management, problem management, and release management skills.
• Working knowledge of AWS cloud concepts/products – glue, S3, lambda, airflow etc.
• Requires knowledge on data management principles and data lifecycle management.
• Prepare detailed reports for management and other departments by analyzing and interpreting data.
• Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
• Hiring, monitoring, and overseeing the IT team members
• Carrying out training sessions and workshops to guide relevant teams
• Carrying out periodic quality checks

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or MIS related area required or equivalent experience (industry experience substitutable)
• 7 + years of experience as Enterprise Data Platform Management and Operations.
• 5 + years of experience in RDBMS database administration core activities
• 3 + years of team management and people management experience
• 3 + years of experience in Banking and financial domain
• Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (preferably Python)
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong knowledge of AWS / Azure
• Excellent understanding of the Agile methodologies
• Must adhere to corporate/team etiquette.
• Good interpersonal skills, ability to interact with Senior Management
• Ability to work well in a team environment, meet deadlines, demonstrate strategic time management, and manage priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
