Platform Engineer 4 Desktop

As a Desktop Engineer IV, you will be a senior member of our IT team, bringing extensive experience to design, implement, and manage our endpoint computing environment. Your primary focus will be on ensuring optimal performance and security across our endpoints, with higher levels of responsibility and leadership.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Infrastructure Management

  • Design, implement, and manage end-user computing infrastructure, including VDI, application delivery, and remote access solutions.
  • Oversee the deployment and management of technologies such as Azure Virtual Desktop and other related platforms.

Application Management

  • Package, deploy, and manage applications across end-user devices and virtual desktops.
  • Ensure seamless application delivery and performance.

Policy and Security Management

  • Implement and enforce security policies for all compute endpoints.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational policies.
  • Manage endpoint security solutions, including antivirus, encryption, and data loss prevention.

Performance Monitoring and Optimization

  • Monitor and optimize the performance of the end-user computing environment.
  • Address and resolve issues related to latency, resource allocation, and user experience.

Technical Support

  • Provide high-level technical support for complex issues related to end-user computing.
  • Collaborate with other IT and Engineering teams to resolve incidents and improve service delivery.

Automation and Scripting

  • Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
  • Automate repetitive tasks related to system management and user provisioning.

Project Management and Collaboration

  • Lead and participate in IT projects related to end-user computing, including upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.

You Need to Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7-10 years of experience in end-user computing or desktop engineering.
  • Proven experience with VDI technologies, application delivery platforms, and remote access solutions.
  • Strong background in managing Azure Virtual Desktop or similar technologies.
  • Extensive experience with endpoint management tools and Digital Experience (DEX) platforms.
  • Expertise in scripting and automation using tools such as PowerShell and Python.
  • Deep understanding of security principles and best practices in an end-user computing environment.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills to resolve complex technical issues across various end-user devices.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of emerging trends in end-user computing and a proactive approach to continuous learning.
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications such as Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty, Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or similar.
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust security models.

We’d Love to See:

  • Experience with administering infrastructure elements such as Azure or AWS networks and server instances
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and SDLC tools.
