We’re seeking Plant Operators to join our Lloydminster Thermal Operations teams at our multiple facilities. Whether you’re a 1st Class Power Engineer or 3rd Class Power Engineer, we have opportunities to advance your career with us. Locations: Multiple facilities between Meota and Edam.   
Schedule:  Rotating day/night shifts, including weekends, holidays, and extra coverage as needed.

Start Dates: Immediate openings and future starts available.

Note: This position requires the successful candidate to reside in the North Battleford area or willingness to relocate upon hire and hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license with driver’s abstract.


Reporting to the Shift Engineer, the Plant Operator is expected to have comprehensive knowledge of safety protocols, plant equipment, and plant operations in all areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with, and commitment to Strathcona's Health, Safety, Environment and Regulatory (HSER) policies, as well as TSASK and OH&S standards.

  • Troubleshoot plant issues and recommend operational improvements.

  • Prioritize safety, environmental compliance, and production efficiency.

  • Review, revise and write Operations Procedures.

  • Report deficiencies, maintain accurate logbooks and support MOC and work orders processes.

  • Notify leader of emergency/upset situations impacting the facility.

  • Lead or support during emergencies, maintenance, and ERP drills.

  • Participate in safety meetings and promote a strong safety culture.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Third-Class Power Engineering (TSASK) Certification.  Progress toward a Second-Class is considered an asset.

  • 5+ years of related industry experience in Oil and Gas (SAGD or CSS).

  • Hands-on with Once Through Steam Generator’s (OTSGs), water/oil treating, and de-oiling processes.

  • Strong teamwork, leadership, and communication skills.

  • Proactive, analytical, and confident in problem-solving and decision-making.

  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office programs.
