Position Summary
The successful candidate for this position must show the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The candidate is responsible for the construction of both aerial and buried coax, copper and fiber optic cables, according to company construction practices and procedures.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Construction, maintenance, and transferring of aerial and underground HFC, FTTH, and telephone plant
- Competent pole and ladder climbing skills
- Works aloft utilizing climbing gaffs, ladders, and mechanical lifts
- Operates company vehicles and equipment including bucket trucks, fork lifts, backhoes/trenchers, and other machines
- Works outdoors in the elements
- Reads network design prints
- Accurately maintains daily log sheet and inventory paperwork
- Knowledge regarding NEC construction guidelines and Armstrong construction practices
- Follows all Armstrong safety policies
- Maintains vehicles and machines to Armstrong standards
- Other assigned tasks
What You’ll Need:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Must possess a positive attitude, a strong work-ethic, and a desire to learn
- Physical capabilities including climbing, lifting, and carrying a minimum of 75 lbs.
- Must maintain physical fitness to meet weight limit requirements for ladders and lifts and be able to meet the demands of a labor-intensive job
- Must be able to take direction verbally and written and be able to work rapidly under time pressure
- Demonstrated ability to make sound judgments and ethical decisions
- Available to work after business hours as required, i.e. storm damage
- Regular, punctual, and consistent attendance
- on a rotating basis.
