Plant Engineering Manager

Job Summary

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will develop and implement plant technical strategies focused on engineering projects and systems. You will lead vertical startup processes to ensure low-loss production systems, provide solutions to technical challenges, and recommend improvements to production activities. You will maintain the plant capital project list, collaborate with Corporate Engineering to achieve the capital budget, and lead the Early Management (EM) Pillar and Utilities team.

Your Impact

  • Establish safety as the plant’s top priority for all team members.
  • Lead the implementation of the capital plan, engaging Plant and Corporate functions such as Safety, Sanitation, Quality, Environmental, Operations, Maintenance, and Finance.
  • Collaborate with the plant to define roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities aligned with CPS principles.
  • Lead the Early Management Pillar and build capabilities within pillar and cell teams.
  • Manage the Utilities team to ensure functionality and compliance with plant utilities processes.
  • Partner with the Platform Engineering Director to resource projects, including Engineering Project Manager, Subject Matter Expert, and Start-up Manager roles.
  • Support internal systems audits and provide technical and project support to the plant and division.
  • Participate in and lead project teams that improve safety, quality, sanitation, labor relations, costs, and customer service.
  • Direct and coordinate mechanical and clerical activities in the maintenance department.
  • Conduct team meetings to ensure communication and team development.

Your Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
  • 5+ years of experience in food manufacturing; 3+ years of training experience preferred.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience managing multi-million-dollar capital projects.
  • Experience leading teams.
  • Strong leadership skills to work as a peer and advisor across departments.
  • Willingness to rotate shifts and work weekends and holidays when required.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.

Compensation: 

Pay Range:$81,000-$118,000

The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
