Responsibilities
Lead the achievement of a zero-injury workplace by ensuring safe work conditions for team members, and ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations on EHS issues.
Assure the compliance with state and federal regulatory matters including OSHA, EPA, EEO and Affirmative Action, Quality Audits
Provide operational and employee leadership to the facility at all times
Conduct weekly operational meetings with Plant leadership/personnel
Maintain a sense of urgency and accountability to ensure prompt response to facility needs
Responsibility for ensuring all standards of ISO and SQF are met
Manage all aspects of the plant cost structure including direct and indirect labor, maintenance and consumable spending. Ensure an effective cost saving program is in effect and pro-actively adjust to business volume swings to preserve profitability - P&L, Labor, Retention, Scrap, etc.
Assist operating management with budgeting, production statistics, cost analysis, justification of capital expenditures and asset management; Ensure and oversee all department expenses are held within the department budget
Lead the facility in establishing and meeting continuous improvement objectives
Partner with department managers to develop and maintain a positive culture consistent with Berry Global values, behaviors and mission
Responsible for overall performance efficiencies and competitive service level for the plant
Ensures the protection of company assets through appropriate maintenance methodologies
Monitors raw materials to ensure adequate supply
Maintain 24 hour/day on call availability to deal with potential problems/issues
Oversee annual wage and bonus planning with RHRM/HR Manager
Oversee/assist plant leadership presentations of Plant Meetings
Assist with Plant Tours for Customers as needed
Keep the Multi-site director, Region VP and HR Director aware of any and all major facility issues involving EMT/Law enforcement
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Knowledge of and experience in leading a progressive manufacturing facility
Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously
Excellent analytical skills required
Knowledge of Microsoft office tools
Strong planning/organizing skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced team setting
Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively lead others
The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $100,000 to $175,000. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Position may also be eligible for Amcor’s Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, as well as medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits.
