Agropur is seeking a Plant Manager to lead its Granby team, which has been a cornerstone of Agropur’s history and has contributed to the local economy for nearly 40 years.
The Plant Manager is a strategic, people-centered leader responsible for guiding both the plant’s operational performance and its culture. Beyond day-to-day management, this role drives leadership development, cultural evolution, and strong working relationships. The Plant Manager ensures excellence in health and safety, quality, productivity, and financial results, while inspiring teams, strengthening collaboration, and guiding the plant toward its long-term vision.

Salary scale 009: $164,200 to $205,200 (Base salary will be determined based on your education, experience, training, and skills relevant to the position.)
What you will put into action:
Develop and communicate an inspiring vision for the plant that aligns teams on the strategic drivers of the culture evolution: people led transformation, focused execution and driving profitable growth.
Lead clear, transparent, and engaging communication across the site, ensuring teams are aligned and connected to the plant’s priorities.
Build strong, respectful relationships with employees and union partners, supporting healthy and constructive labor relations.
Provide clear direction and coaching while overseeing staffing, hiring, people development and performance management.
Lead KPI results while communicating expectations clearly and engaging employees in understanding and improving performance.
Oversee operational and capital budgets with a strategic, forward‑looking approach while promoting efficient use of materials, equipment, and talent through innovation and continuous improvement, and driving key initiatives such as new product launches, equipment implementation, and modernization efforts.
Uphold high standards in health & safety and food safety while maintaining secure, safe plant operations through proactive risk management and a strong culture of shared responsibility.
Liaise with regulatory and government agencies to ensure compliance.
The profile that excels in execution:
Bachelor’s degree in food science, engineering, or related field or a combination of education and experience demonstrating strong strategic and operational leadership.
Minimum 10 years of experience as Production Manager/Director in the food industry, with proven success leading teams in complex environments.
Track record of driving major transformation initiatives (culture, safety, quality, innovation, productivity).
Strong continuous improvement experience (Lean, Six Sigma) with ability to engage teams in structured problem‑solving.
Demonstrated track record in improving cost base and overall plant performance, supported by strong experience in the financial measurement and analysis of plant results.
Inspiring leader who builds trust, develops talent, and creates a collaborative, high‑engagement culture.
Strong communicator capable of influencing at all levels with clarity, empathy, and confidence.
Skilled at maintaining positive employee and union relations, with a balanced, solution‑oriented approach.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English. (English required to work with colleagues from other Canadian provinces)
