We’re seeking an experienced Planning Manager professional who will bring their experience to transform our Material Requirements Planning (MRP) activities, ensuring robust resource and capacity planning is in place for both the short and long term. You will bridge the gap between different departments to synchronize sales forecasts, inventory levels, and production capabilities into a unified plan.This position requires a solution-oriented mindset and a collaborative approach to leadership. You will be a strong advocate for change and drive process improvement throughout your area of responsibility. Your ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and drive performance through engagement will be a pillar to your success.
This position is based at our Santa Isabel, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.
What You Will Do
Manage a team of intermediate or experienced professionals in Materials Planning
Set objectives and guide others on execution/approach for achievement of operational results
Face problems that are difficult and involve consideration of multiple variables.
Explain policies, practices and procedures and influence others
Execute operational plans that include storing and shipping of products, executing activities, responding to complex inquiries and ensuring quality of work
Mentor manufacturing teams, providing guidance and fostering a positive work environment, encouraging teamwork, openness and sharing information to foster unity
Monitor production performance and provide regular updates to senior management, demonstrating sound judgment and understanding the impact of team actions on business drivers and adapting to industry changes
Oversee daily MRP activities, master production schedule, and cost center scheduling to ensure feasible production plans based on internal and external capacity, inventory availability, and customer requirements
Ensure data integrity and accuracy within the ERP/MRP system to facilitate effective planning and purchasing decisions
Monitor inventory levels, set optimal stock targets, and develop strategies to manage obsolete inventory
Work closely with the Procurement team to align the supply plan with demand, track supplier performance, and resolve material shortages
Collaborate and drive improvement in a robust, cross-functional SIOP process to align demand forecasts, production capabilities, and inventory strategies
Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to understand demand drivers and incorporate them into production schedules and forecasts
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as master schedule adherence, on-time delivery, and inventory status, using data driven insights to identify issues and opportunities
Lead, coach and mentor a team of Planning & Material Analysts, a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration
Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and identify training needs to enhance the team's skills in planning, analytics, and systems (ERP/MRP)
Act as a change agent, leading system/application implementations, standardization efforts, and process improvements
Drive advancement of our safety culture, ensuring risks are assessed and activities are conducted in a safe manner
Qualifications You Must Have
A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience
Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English and Spanish (verbal and written)
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience leading or supporting data analysis initiatives and system/data migration projects within demand planning or supply chain environments
Experience working within SAP or similar ERP/MRP systems
Working experience with Continuous Improvement / Lean / Six Sigma
Project Management is a nice to have
