Summary:
Plans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors final approval of products through the complete production cycle. Works from engineering plans and production specifications to establish production schedules, labor loading, and capacity requirements. Coordinates production plans to ensure materials are provided according to schedules.

Role Summary
The Planner / Scheduler is responsible for all aspects of scheduling customer orders with the Contract Manufacturing partners to ensure satisfactory delivery to our global end-customers.
Major Responsibilities
- Primary ownership for day-to-day scheduling of customer orders to meet customer requirements
- Works closely with the Order Management, Sales and Sales Operations teams to fully understand customer requirements for booked sales orders – manages multiple priorities to maintain on time deliveries for all customer orders
- Works with Contract Manufacturing partners to ensure shipment of all orders align to scheduled commit dates and customer request dates
- Works daily with Contract Manufacturing partners to expedite delivery of any material required to meet customer order delivery expectations
- Coordinates expedite activity on material and labor with the CM Manages material escalations through Commodity Managers as required to insure on time delivery
- Maintains and reviews on time delivery reports for CM partner – drives continuous improvement activity to insure 100% on time delivery performance
- Manages any customer escalation requests regarding customer order delivery schedule
- Responsible for on time delivery coordination for New Product Introduction (NPI) with the CM – including delivery of prototypes and adherence to volume production ramp schedules
- Coordinate with Planning team to develop and implement forecast with CM
- Manage Contract Manufacturer partners to assure compliance to VIAVI policy and procedures
- Provide information to support Quarterly Business Reviews with the Contract Manufacturers to review overall performance against established goals and objectives
- Conduct weekly reviews with Contract Manufacturers to measure performance against stated goals and objectives, and to drive continual process improvement in areas not meeting required performance levels
Job Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in production planning or scheduling in a manufacturing environment.
* Proficiency in using ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
* Experience in the electronics or telecommunications industry is a plus.
* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles is desirable.
