The Position

The Opportunity

Shape Finance Excellence with Us! Join our dynamic Business Finance Chapter as a Placement Student. Drive process improvements – ensuring 'Right First Time' – while strengthening our Finance Framework in areas like Credit Management and Cost Per Reportable (CPR/ PPX). Directly contribute to achieving our Financial and Accounts Receivable (AR) targets, all while delivering a market-leading customer experience.

This is a full-time, hybrid role based between our Burgess Hill office and home working, reporting directly to the Head of Business Finance Operations, with no direct reports.

Expected start date: 1st July 2026

Key responsibilities include:

  • Partner with the organisation to ensure the delivery of AR targets, manage the AR balance, and identify areas for improvement.

  • Resolve customer queries in a timely manner, investigate the reasons and work with internal stakeholders to facilitate correction.

  • Accountable for key CPR accounts, ensuring timely processing of CPR data, ongoing reconciliation of accounts, remediation of discrepancies and regular status reporting.

  • Play an active role in the Customer Month End Closing, collaborating with other teams to ensure accuracy of contract balances reported to the customer.

  • Calculate values required to support accurate charging/ billing (including invoices, credits, recurring charges) and share with those required to process transactions.

  • Collaborate on initiatives to establish and maintain master data standards for improved data consistency.

  • Proactively search for opportunities for process improvements focused on achieving 'Right First Time' outcomes, leveraging technology & automation to drive digitalisation.

Who You Are

Our Roche Diagnostics internship programme is a12-months programme in Burgess Hill, Sussex, UK, designed for everyone currently searching for a placement year as part of their Finance, Business, or Accounting-related studies. We aren't looking for a finished expert; we are looking for someone with a passion for learning!

As an ideal candidate, you are: 

  • Tech Curious: You have a good foundation in Excel and Google Suite, and you are excited about the idea of learning SAP. You have a natural interest in how new technologies like AI can make work more efficient.

  • Process Minded: You have an interest in how businesses operate, from how a customer places an order to how large-scale contracts (like our Managed Laboratory Services (MLS)) function.

  • Analytical & Organised: You have strong organisational skills developed through your studies. You can handle data accurately and are comfortable working towards deadlines to produce reliable reports.

  • Great Communicator: You are fluent in English and enjoy the challenge of explaining data and financial information to different types of people.

  • Team Player: You are eager to experience working in a large organisation and are ready to build relationships with colleagues across different departments.
