In this role, you will provide Pipeline Structural Strain expertise and leadership in support of Pipeline Integrity and Geohazard related projects. The role is recognized as the Enbridge technical subject matter expert with respect to Strain and is accountable to develop, implement, and improve an industry leading strain management program.

What You Will Do:
Develop and manage the strategic Pipeline Integrity strain management philosophy for the Liquids Pipeline system.
Technical Champion for all Liquids Pipelines:
Strain related assessments related to geohazards (mainline and facilities) using ILI, and non-ILI methods (strain gauges, fiber optics, and LSM).
ILI/IMU data assessment for strain, wrinkles and dent issues related to geohazards.
Pipe to soil interaction modelling and review; able to challenge conventional approach conservatism.
Vortex Induced Vibration pipe response acceptance criteria.
Develop & provide training/mentoring for screening tools for use by planning subject matter leads, regional engineers for rapid pass/fail assessment of structural/strain matters.
Perform advanced analysis of highly complex strain related matters that are outside of the scope of screening tools or typical industry standard assessments (example: Blasting assessments, geohazards, special crossings, spans, dropped weight, bomb threat, etc.).
Who You Are:
Engineering degree. Preference for Mechanical or Structural Engineering.
Registration as a professional engineer, P. Eng. with APEGA.
7 years of related experience minimum, 10 years is preferred.
Thorough technical proficiency of and working experience with design, construction and maintenance aspects associated with API, ASME, CSA, etc standards.
Diligent, responsible, sound technical judgement, practical decision-making capabilities.
Self-motivated, independent, innovative, responsible, hard-working, and a team player.
Effective interpersonal skills that include: Influencing others and gain agreement, dedication, and engagement. Presenting technical concepts to a wide variety of partners (such as senior management and regulatory bodies). Developing and maintain quality relationships with industry peers.
Working Conditions:
Office based role.
Travel up to 10%.
Valid passport to work and travel in US and Canada.
