Environmental Air Systems, a full-service mechanical contractor, is seeking Pipe Helpers to join our manufacturing shop. In this role you will perform a variety of tasks to support the Pipe Department. Schedule: Monday through Thursday 6:00 am to 4:30 pm
Responsibilities:
- Assist other trade employees in the Pipe Department as directed (e.g. Pipe welders, Pipe fitters, Plumbers, etc.)
- Handle and organize material
- Clean and maintain work areas, materials, and tools by removing debris and trash
- Use power tools (e.g. grinder, drill, impact wrench, etc.)
- Work safely and adhere to all safety rules and policies
- Work in a fast-paced team environment
Education Requirements/Qualifications:
- Reading and speaking proficiency in either English or Spanish required
- Minimum of a high school education or equivalent
- At least 6 months experience in a manufacturing or construction environment
- Speaking and reading proficiency in either English or Spanish is required
- Previous pipefitting or plumbing experience preferred
Job Requirements/Special Skills:
- Ability to read a tape measure required
- Ability to read blueprints preferred
- Ability to work independently and on a team
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stoop, bend, crawl, and climb ladders throughout the shift
- Ability to stand and work for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to work in conditions of varying heat and cold where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels
- Ability to perform work at heights utilizing ladders and lifts
