The listed pay range or pay rate reflects compensation for a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) position. Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part-time).

Position Overview

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Coordinates and supports physician call schedules and associated maintenance of the schedules.
  • Gathers complete patient and procedure information. Verifies information is complete and accurate.
  • Prepares and distributes schedules in accordance with established time frames. Works closely with physicians and medical office administration to schedule and maximize utilization of time.
  • Manages after-hours answering service. Ensures proper schedules, coverages, and communications are clear, concise, and ready.
  • Demonstrates willingness to assist co-workers during periods of heightened patient activity.
  • Reviews promptly with physician routine issues, difficulties, and unusual circumstances. Handles promptly patient problems or complaints. Refers difficult situations to manager or director as needed.
  • Plans daily schedule to maximize physician productivity in the practice. Coordinates and schedules other physician activities or programs with various CH departments.
  • Coordinates hospital patient activity for doctors and billing company as required.
  • Works directly with providers to implement provider scheduling to ensure maximum productivity. Coordinates scheduling of resources like exam rooms or equipment, to ensure appropriate availability for each provider.
  • Works in conjunction with physician(s) and manager or director to develop and implement a practice-specific plan for the introduction and growth of the practice in the community.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Five years of previous medical office or hospital setting experience.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to problem solve and multi-task.
  • Special Training: Proficient computer skills. Familiarity with medical terminology and endoscopic and/or surgical procedures and experience with variety of insurance companies preferred.
  • Mental, Behavioral and Emotional Abilities: Able to multi-task and manage frequent interruptions. Customer focused.
