West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and the Department of Neurology in the WVU School of Medicine are actively recruiting a full-time Clinician-Researcher at the Associate Professor or Professor rank.
The WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute (RNI) is a comprehensive multidisciplinary patient care, education, and research institute providing neurological and mental healthcare through more than 300,000 visits annually. The 300+ physicians and scientists of the RNI improve lives by pioneering advances in neuroscience, brain health, and therapeutics. The RNI team uses the latest technologies with academic, government, and industry partners to make tangible progress to combat public health challenges ranging from addiction to Alzheimer’s disease.
Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical licensure. Successful candidate must have completed a psychiatry or neurology residency program as well as a behavioral/cognitive neurology fellowship program. Successful candidates must be board certified in behavioral or cognitive neurology. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the area of cognitive and behavioral neurology including mild cognitive impairment, Alzheimer’s disease, and related disorders. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. They will develop and sustain an independent, externally funded research program in clinical neuroscience; design and lead clinical trials, observational studies, and investigator-initiated research; publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at national/international conferences; collaborate across departments and disciplines to foster innovative research initiatives; and mentor trainees and junior faculty in research methodology and career development.
